The Best On-Sale Sweaters, Jeans and More Fall Apparel This Labor Day

Despite rising temps and the fact that there’s nearly a month to go until the actual actual autumn equinox (September 22 this year), Labor Day is still the unofficial sign of summer’s end. It’s also the official sign for retailers to offload summer stock with some massive Labor Day sales. We’re big fans ofoff-season shoppingand absolutely encourage you to take advantage ofcurrent discountsin anticipation of summer ‘26; but there are also a number of fall ‘25 deals mix that definitely shouldn’t be missed.
Below, I’ve pulled together some excellent on-sale items you can start wearing now (or at least soon, depending where you live). There are options for men, women, and kids, organized by gender/age and retailer, and I’ll be updating the list periodically. Still, Labor Day is just a few days away, so these lower prices won’t last long.

Womenswear
Alex Mill
The Alex Mill sale section is up to 70 percent off. Early fall styles include a silk maxi skirt, a simple sweater tee, and a deeply discounted transitional linen shacket.
Everlane
Some great fall pieces are on sale at Everlane right now, including the hands-down most flattering pair of barrel pants I’ve ever owned.
Faherty
Faherty’s surf-inspired style is inherently summer-y, but there are still plenty of pieces you can wear well into fall — and several of them are on sale.
Gap
Fall is the start ofCashSoftseason and there’s plenty of it on sale right now, so it’s time to start stocking up. Also on sale are my other favorite (and very flattering) pair of barrel-cut bottoms.
J.Crew

Jenni Kayne
Almost everything is 20 percent off at Jenni Kayne this weekend, and there are obviously a bunch of excellent sweaters to choose from, especially of the cashmere variety. I also found some perfectly draped wool trousers, and an cozy, oversized fleece hoodie.
Madewell

Menswear
Alex Mill
There’s some very fall-appropriate menswear on sale at Alex Mill, including a ribbed sweater with pocket (a fun touch!), some stylish Fracap collab boots, and a smart-looking linen jacket.
Everlane
Everlane is offering some very hefty discounts on a number of cooler-weather pieces. I’m especially fond of the Barn Jacket, which, though it sits in the men’s department, is a great unisex pick.
Gap
Of course there are some good deals at the Gap. The VintageSoft hoodie is a particularly great way to start embracing those cozy fall vibes.
J.Crew
J.Crew delivers the classics, and nowhere more than in its menswear department. Take 40 percent off staples like some simple, straight-leg denim, and a rugby shirt harkens back to the brand’s styles of yore.
Madewell
As with its womenswear, Madewell’s mens sale is also an extra 40 percent with code LONGWEEKEND.
Kids
Gap
Gap’s sale extends to the kids and baby/toddler departments, and includes the extra 50 percent of discount (shown at checkout) on sale items, no code required.
Hanna Andersson
Hanna Andersson clothes are made to last and well worth their full price, so a site-wide sale is just a welcome excuse to stock up. Pretty much everything is 40 percent off, and, through August 31, you can take an additional 20 percent off with code FUN20.
J.Crew
J.Crew’s kids section is pretty great right now, and includes a mix of über-preppy styles and laid-back So-Cal-inspired duds. As with the men’s and women’s sales, tons of regularly priced styles are 40 percent off, while on-sale items are an extra 50 percent off.
