What Rachel Sennott Can’t Live Without

I got my walking treadmill when I started doing the show, specifically the writers’ room because I’m a very antsy person. I have a hard time sitting still for a long period of time, especially when I’m trying to talk through ideas. When I got this it helped me so much with focusing. Otherwise I’m in the room sitting in the chair and then I would get up and pace. It would just be annoying. The walking treadmill changed everything for me. It’s a very slow pace, but just being able to move when we talk about ideas is super helpful for me. It’s a slow amble kind of situation.

I have been on a real healing-my-gut journey, just like every other bitch in town. My friend recommended this to me because I was starting every morning with apple-cider vinegar and three cups of coffee. She was like, it’s too harsh. Everything you do feels like you’re kind of punishing your body. You need hot water with a little bit of ghee in it to like lubricate the digestive tract, apparently.I started doing that, and it really worked for me. It makes you go. It makes you poop. In general, I’ve leaned toward being gentler with my body. I realized that the things that I was doing, like, starting my day with, like, three cups of coffee and then sprinting and screaming at myself in the mirror. I would be like,Why do I feel bad?And it’s like,Oh, because of all of that.

Obviously, I have digestive issues. I massage my stomach every night with castor oil before I go to bed. I tried a couple, but this one’s nice because of the bottle. It doesn’t leak. The castor oil isn’t too sticky or gooey. Like, it’s not a whole mess to use it.

Their basic cami is perfect. Part of it is turning 30 and also having the job of making the show. I need the same outfit that I can wear almost every day. It was the Tank Air cami, a cardigan, and jeans. It became sort of like my uniform. It’s just the best tank. It’s so comfy. It holds the girls in. You don’t even need a bra. And I need a bra, but I don’t with Tank Air.

I like cotton underwear. When you think of cotton underwear, it’s like a you’re-tucking-your-shirt-into-your-panties kind of thing, but they do the cutest little cotton underwear and bra sets. They’re so comfy and light and breathable and cute. I fuck with all the cuts they make.

I wear the big-ass sneakers that old people wear because I walk a lot and I do hikes. And if I don’t wear them, my knees get fucked up. I’m like five-six when I wear them. It’s a huge pad, but it’s kind of nice because it gives a cushion if you walk a lot, especially on pavement or a harder surface.

I’ve been through a crazy journey with my skin. I did accutane, and then afterward, I was just doing too much. I was creating problems by trying to fix them. I would dry out my skin with all these harsh products. And then I would be like,My skin is so dry.Then I would put on thick, thick lotions. I would clog the skin and then I would break out and then I would go back to the drying stuff. The serum was recommended to me by a friend. She was like, “I just use the serum,” and I was like, “Just a serum? Are you crazy?” Then I started doing it, and I was like,Oh, it’s so light, but it’s still hydrating and I have way less breakouts.

I’m always Venmoing friends, splitting dinner, going on a trip. It makes things so much easier. I always had money sitting in Venmo that I would forget about. With the Venmo debit card, I found out about Stash. You can bundle packages when you spend on certain things, like a rideshare or food-delivery service, and you can earn cash back with that. It feels like a win because then you’re like,Okay, I’m already using this thing,I would do it anyway. NowI can use the money that I have in Venmo to pay for other things.
