Like Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag admired Andrew Scott’sHot Priest’s neck, I find myself similarly thinking about the high V-neck. It does for the base of the throat what a scoopneck does for the middle of the chest, and while a V-neck emphasizes a well-tended décolletage, thehighV-neck highlights the sinews of the neck. It’s this hint of skin — which is baring rather than naked — that makes me think the best V-neck is a high V-neck.
If there’s a neckline index, it seems high V-necks are on the up. Like a game ofWhere’s Waldo?, I can’t stop seeing them. First at Gigi Hadid’s Guest in Residence, with thenow sold-out V. Next atKhaite. ThenJordan Bickhamon Liana Satenstein’s Instagram, and an installment of Emilia Petrarca’sShop Rat. They even appeared in creative directorDario Vitale’s new Versace, including Look #3, Look #5, Look #9, Look #11, and Look #42 of his firstS/S 2026presentation. I don’t think they’re going anywhere, either. Here are more high V-necks that are on my mind.
