Several months ago, the Strategist had a week of stories on the site dedicated toturning your kitchen plastic free. It’s a worthy but (depending on how much you’re inclined to swap out at once) expensive endeavor. So I thought it would a nice idea to pull a good handful of the best plastic-free products that my colleagues and I researched and tested during that time that just so happen to be on sale forBlack Friday. Caraway makes a ton of plastic-free kitchenware, but I’m most into its glassfood-storage containerswith airtight lids. I use several in my pantry to hold ingredients like rice and grains and flour and keep a couple of the smaller ones in a cabinet to store leftovers in the fridge.

Material Kitchen’s MK Free Board is only 15 percent off, but I included it because it’s one of a kind: It looks and feels like plastic, but it’s made completely from plant-based materials. Brewing coffee in a fully plastic-free electric machine is nearly impossible, but my colleague senior writerMichael Zhaolikes thispour-over setas an alternative. “The tall, narrow shape ensures that any water poured into the top makes its way through more of the coffee as it drips downward,” he says.
