Prime Day Vacuum Sales Are Live
In this article
Prime Day is here, and we’re updating this story hourly. To find the best deals in every category, follow all of our Prime Day coverage.
Amazon’s annual sales festival is now on its final day(it lasts for four days this year instead of the regular two), and just like previous years, it’s a really good time to buy a vacuum. We’ve tested a lot of vacuums, and many of the models we stand behind — like a cordless Dyson dupe and a wet-dry vacuum that can handle cereal spills — go on deep sale for Prime Day, sometimes at the best prices we’ve seen all year.
I went through the Strategist’s deep archive of vacuum-cleaner content to find the best deals that are actually worth it. On Prime Day, a lot of original prices get artificially inflated to show a larger discount, so a good rule of thumb is to check the price history on a site like Camelcamelcamel to make sure you’re not just paying normal price with a sales tag slapped onto it. Prime Day ends at midnight tonight, so if you see something you like, act fast — we’ve already seen some things sell out.
Deals I personally think are the best
Including a delightful upholstery cleaner, an on-sale Dyson, $200 off the wet-dry vacuum that flew through our tester’s gauntlet of spilled cereal and dried maple syrup, and an efficient German vacuum squeegee.

Prime Day is a great time to buy a Dyson — although the newest Gen5Detect is still expensive, older models like the V8 are just as reliable and are currently on sale for 36 percent off. Strategist writer Michael Zhao also endorses the V15 Detect, which is only slightly less powerful than the most recent model: “The Gen5Detect is worth the premium over the V15 at their regular prices, but at this sale price, I’d rather save the $380,” he says.

Our tester also likes the Bissell CrossWave as a less expensive alternative to the Dreame (although they’re close in price today). It’s a bit more complicated to clean, but unlike the Dreame, it has a steam option for stubborn stains.
