Sunscreen, Sandals, Swimsuits, and More Summer Sales to Shop This Weekend

This week marked the launch of The Strategist Swimsuit Project — a monthslong endeavor aimed at helping you find the best suit. Coincidentally, plenty of swimwear is on sale for women, men, and kids, and I’ve plucked our top picks (many of which are from this week’s swimsuit coverage) below. Gap and Banana Republic Factory are also having great sitewide sales on summer clothing if you’re looking for some shorts, sandals, and cover-ups to match. And as it’s just over two weeks away, I’ve found some on-sale things that would make nice Father’s Day gifts, including a smart bird camera, Ember’s self-warming mug, and a Barefoot Dreams robe.

Deals I personally think are the best
I’m intrigued by these Levi’s from our hunt for not-too-short jean shorts, which writer Bella Druckman says are so comfortable she wore them on a road trip. Father’s Day is right around the corner (Sunday, June 21), and Ember’s self-warming mug makes a great gift. And I’ll be stocking up on these colorful storage crates from Hay — I own at least half a dozen already but always welcome more.
Women’s fashion

In this week’s “Strategist Brain,” updates coordinator Najwa Jamal clued us in on all the cute summer sandals that she’s got her eye on. Two pairs are over half off (or more): the Tory Burch wedges that have been living in her head since January and Gap’s jellies, which are “an approachable spin on one of Chloé’s ‘It’-girl jellies of the season.”
Men’s fashion
Banana Republic Factory’s sale has more good deals than usual in the men’s section. Hurwitz’s top picks are a $14 henley tee (which we included in our Summer 100 earlier this week), a crisp dress shirt, and linen-blend shorts.
There aren’t as many men’s swimsuits on sale as women’s, but we did find a few trunks in not-too-gaudy prints.
The entire men’s collection (including sale items) is 30 percent off at Barefoot Dreams this weekend. It’s a good time to get Dad something ultracozy — just take it from Richard Marx, who calls the brand’s offerings the “coziest, softest, best planewear.”

Senior writer Ambar Pardilla loves the brand’s stackable laundry baskets, which come in two sizes and nest into each other “like a set of kitchen mixing bowls.”
Tech
So far, the only good early Prime Day deals are on tech. I found three levels of Sony headphones: cheap and non-noise-canceling; still cheap but also noise-canceling; and Best in Class and noise-canceling.
