A single packet of DripDrop mixed into eight ounces of water provides near- perfect electrolyte supplementation for anyone who has been perspiring copiously—whether in marathon training or while stuck on that one subway car with broken AC. To land on this winner, Strategist staffers (and long-distance runners) Brenley Goertzen and Jeremy Rellosa worked out, then sampled more than a dozen different electrolyte powders, tablets, and liquid concentrates. They both said DripDrop left them feeling the most refreshed and energized when consumed consistently. The powder dissolves in water with a few quick bottle shakes, comes in 18 flavors (both Rellosa and Goertzen’s favorite is grape), and is fortified with 330 milligrams of sodium and nine grams of carbohydrates per serving. Rellosa said that’s the ideal amount—any more tastes unpleasantly salty, and any less feels insufficient.

“I just went to Paris for a quick trip. I brought four pairs of shoes, but I wore only these. They’re supercomfortable and machine washable, and when they come out of the machine, they look brand new. The very-bright-red color looks really good with pants, skirts, and so much more.”

“You know how sometimes you go to
a cigar bar and you walk out and your hair smells like a dead rat’s ass, and you’re like, I don’t really want to wash my hair? I spray this on, and it brings it back to life, and it just smells so good.”

“I travel everywhere with this speaker.
You really can’t count on hotels to have a good sound system in the room. And I think it is a total vibe-maker to have your own music wherever you go. I play a lot of Grateful Dead. The sound quality’s great—it really packs a punch.”

I don’t believe what the air-conditioner–industrial complex wants me to believe. Instead, I contend that summer is a time to be warm, not freezing cold. That’s why much of mine is spent surrounded by fans. This one is my newest acquisition, and I don’t know how I went so long without oscillation. There’s not a square foot it misses inside a room. It also has all the features you could ask for: an on/off timer, a remote control, and a handy chart of cooling settings, including refresh, relax, white noise, and whisper.

People have asked me if this bodywash is a scam, assuming that the retinol goes down the drain. It doesn’t! It has guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, which allows the retinol to stick to the skin. It’s a great way to get retinol on body parts that have pigmentation, wrinkles, or crepiness.

This has a lot of ingredients people look for: niacinamide; panthenol, which is good for sensitive skin; and glycerin. Even though the textur eis quite rich, you won’t feel like you’ve slathered on greasy body cream. It’s a good one-and-done product.

I use this for breakouts, but if you deal with body odor, you may want to use it on your armpits in the shower. It will help deodorize that area since benzoyl peroxide is antibacterial. Rinse it off well, though, because it will bleach your towels.

O’Keeffe’s is a brand a lot of people associate just with hand creams and thick hand salves, but trust me on its SPF lip balm. It’s really moisturizing and has a nice orange-sorbet taste that I enjoy.

AGOLDE 90’s Shorts
My enthusiasm for jorts started a few summers ago when I happened upon a sample sale and saw them: a pair of knee-length, light-wash denim shorts with a stripe down the back of the leg. Bermuda jorts put to rest the classic “Pants or shorts?” question that
inevitably arises when the temperature cracks 70 degrees, and they’re stylistically versatile as well. You really can dress them up or down for a full day- to-night look. I own many pairs, but lately my favorite is the Agolde 90’s Short. I love a relaxed look, and the frayed hem and low-slung waist really deliver that surfer- off-duty aesthetic. They sit just low enough to slouch comfortably without falling down, and the denim softens up with every wash. Get them in the faded-black “Hitch” colorway so you can wear them with a white tank and a nice pair of sandals to all of your impossible-to-dress-for summer-evening rendezvous. –Katie Stone
