LEGO is launching its first-everPeanuts-themed building set. Thanks to a fan-made design submitted through theLEGO Ideas crowdsourcing platform, Snoopy and his buddy Woodstock are making their way into the official LEGO universe in a 964-piece set that lets you pose the iconic duo in two classic scenes: hanging out on Snoopy’s doghouse and roasting marshmallows over a campfire against a starry night sky. I love seeing popular cartoon characters, everyday objects, and animals reimagined in LEGO bricks, and this set has lots of fun details, from Woodstock’s tuft of spiky yellow feathers to Snoopy’s shiny round nose to the trusty blue typewriter thatPeanutsfans will remember from the comic strip.

Like one of my favorite recent LEGO Ideas builds — themini-figure vending machinethat came out last year — thisPeanutsdesign had to garner online support from at least 10,000 LEGO fans before it could be reviewed by the brand and approved for production. And as with past fan-suggested sets, the designer who came up with the idea will receive one percent of its net sales. If the set turns out to be as popular as I think it will be, that’s a pretty good side hustle.

LEGO’s Snoopy set is rated for ages 18 and up but could certainly be completed by a younger builder with help from an adult; it could also be a wonderful family project. Preorders will open at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, February 14, and the sets are expected to ship at the beginning of June.
