When I saw thatSabrina Carpenterhadposted a photo dumpearly this morning, I found myself ogling everything in the background of her bedtime look. Her nightstand held a variety of bedside essentials, including a single hair tie and one of those pillowy silk masks that so many sleep brands (includingLunyaandBaloo) are making right now. As the Strategist Slack channel tried to pin down exactly which mask it was, I walked over to my bedroom, where I had a feeling the same one would be on my own nightstand. There, lo and behold, was my Drowsy sleep mask with the exact black Velcro, silky sheen, and relative size to a single hair tie as the mask on the singer’s nightstand. The antidote to that “me espresso,” it seems, is a Drowsy sleep mask.
Having been on the sleep-mask beat for over a year now, I have my fair share of sleep masks in my nightstand drawer. There’s theblackout Mantafor long flights, the weighted Nodpodfor nights when my mind is racing, andthe lightweight Brooklinenfor when I’m feeling low maintenance. But on top of my nightstand, you’ll findour favorite luxury sleep mask, the Drowsy, with its 360-degree pillowy padding, easy Velcro adjustability, and 100 percent light-blocking capabilities. The padded mulberry silk has a momme count — the technical term for the heft and weight of the material — of 22 (the industry average forsilk in generalis 19). And while it seems as though theShort n’ Sweetsinger sleeps with the brand’s original sleep mask in Dusty Gold, it might be time for someone to get herthe eyelash-protecting version.
