I moved back home to the Bay Area earlier this summer, and now I’m stressed about sofas. Amattressis en route to my new apartment, but I own no other large furnishings. My evenings currently consist of trawling Facebook Marketplace and the Strategist’s Best in Class guides for the essentials — abed frameand acouchwould bereallynice to have ASAP. The Brynn sofa from World Market seems the most promising, so now I need to go in-store to test it out.

In a real “cart before the horse” moment, I’ve already purchased this throw-pillow cover for my nonexistent couch.
Bed frames are another beast entirely. I’m on the third floor, no elevator, so lightness is key. I’m considering these (Strategist approved) three: a platform option from KD Frames, which is a good price but doesn’t have a headboard; one from Living Spaces that’s also under $300 but may be tempting for my cats to scratch up; andone from Articlethat is dreamy but costs nearly $1,000. Decisions, decisions!

Kawa Cicada Pant
I’m also in the market for some morehiking pants. I purchased a barrel-leg pair from Aerieback in Juneand think I’ll probably get another in either forest green or chocolate brown. (They’re also great for wearing to pottery class.) But I’ve also had my eye on these (very pricey) pants from Atas Awan and Kawa for a really long time; the color blocking is just so cute!

This bag has been on my wish list for a while now. It looks great for commuting: The strap wraps across your chest and under your armpits so it won’t fall off (even when you’re biking).

A combination of living in the Texas Sun for six years and trialing several medications left me with annoying melasma around my eyes. In addition to a topical treatment, my dermatologist suggested I take this supplement for extra protection against UV light. I’m a bit of a supplement skeptic, but I like the idea of not needing to reapply sunscreen every two hours — I always forget. It’s been a little over a month and my spots are nearly gone, so I may have to make the Heliocare part of my regular routine. (For what it’s worth, sleep writerAmelia Jerdensays one of her friends, whose parent is a dermatologist, also recommends it.)

Speaking of skin care, this moisturizer is on my “to try” list. I have extremely sensitive skin, so I like that it’s focused on hydration and calming redness. It’s also fragrance free.
