The Goal: Find the best slippers that look like sneakers. After all, between Balenciaga’s sock sneakers, Allbirds’s wool slip-ons, and Adidas’s Primeknit racers, plenty of outdoor shoes feel like bedroom slippers. Surely the reverse must be true, too.
The Verdict: The One Love Socks by Fuggit take aesthetic inspiration from the rarest, most coveted kicks on the market — in this case, Retro Air Jordan 1s — but are hand-crocheted by a team of female artisans in Turkey. Unlike most of the puffy slipper-sneakers available, Fuggits have a tapered, high-top silhouette and fake laces. And recently the brand’s founder, Richard Riley, started adding rubber soles — meaning you can even wear them downstairs to the deli.
These are also available for sale on Etsy.
Fuggit also makes this fun knitted version of the sneakers from Back to The Future that come in mens sizes.
Mahabis come with a detachable rubber sole, so they’re not necessarily slippers that look like sneakers, but they are slippers that act like sneakers.
Your classic Converse All Star look-alike.
Perhaps the most common of slipper-sneakers, the super-puffy high-top with a one-inch foam sole that you’ll just sink right into. These also come branded for all of your favorite sports teams.
