What Olivia Munn Can’t Live Without

Hives are a side effect of one of the medications I take for breast cancer. A lot of cortisone creams and things like that just weren’t working. My daughter has sensitive skin and we started using this Aveeno bath treatment because her pediatrician recommended it, and it really calmed everything down. So I started putting it inmybaths, and then I started making it into a paste.

That reminds me, I also found something out recently that’s amazing: diaper rash creams. Méi was having these eczema spots on her body, and I was talking to my friend about it, because the Aveeno helps calm her skin, but it’s not taking these spots away. She said I should tryTriple Paste. I was like,The diaper cream?My friend was like,Yeah, I put it on my red spots, and it goes away. So I put it on my daughter, and the very next morning they were gone.

My husband recently got this reading light and I thought it looked so silly. I’m like,You can just turn on a lamp, you know. He started gifting them to people when it wasn’t even a holiday or their birthday; he just bought so many and started giving them out. I was like,Okay, now you’re just being a little much.

But then the other night, I put it on and I realized that he is a genius. My son is at the age where he is negotiating to stay up later. He’s like,Mama, can I get a glass of water? Mama, can I turn off the light?It’s nonstop. And then getting out of bed, even the smallest motion, wakes him up. So I was like,I’m just going to try and use this, and it’s perfect. It illuminates the book, but the rest of the room is dark. You just turn it off, slip it off your neck, and everyone’s in bed and it’s time for sleep. It really has changed the nighttime ritual for us. It’s so much less of a battle with my son because he hasn’t jumped out of bed.

I really try hard not to let my face and decolletage see a lot of the sun. I was recently on a girls’ trip to Turks and Caicos and I was so great about putting on my sunscreen, but I didn’t reapply because I was wearing a big hat. After the trip, I was like, oh my gosh, I have sun damage on my forehead? How could this be? I was in the shade the whole time. But my dermatologist said to me, you’re not thinking about how the sun reflects off the water. It’s coming right back up and hitting you underneath your hat.

So now I had this sun damage that went halfway down my forehead, and I can’t really cover it with foundation. So I did a deep dive on moisturizers that would help, and I came across this Estee Lauder one. It was super moisturizing and took care of the dark spots right away. I’m also at the age where I’m focused on firming up my skin, and there’s some ingredients in this cream that help with that. I’ve seen a big difference, especially around the jowls, which have started to get a little loose. I hit my mid forties, so I’d spoken to my dermatologist about what I should be doing. He was like,Skincare is the least expensive thing that you can do. A lot of times people jump straight to going under the knife, but they’re forgetting that the texture of the skin can really show how much you’ve aged and how much you’ve allowed yourself to be in the sun. So taking care of my skin is a big priority.

This is the Goldilocks of white T-shirts. The neck hits just at the right spot. The sleeves are not too tight, but they’re not too wide either. They just hit at the perfect place. And it hits you at your waistline in the exact right spot too, so that you don’t have to tuck it in. It’s not too long, it’s not too short. I wear a size medium, which makes the fit a little bit looser. I literally bought 10 of them after wearing one.

I had the worst stye recently. I would show people and they were like,Oh, that’s one of the worst ones I’ve ever seen. It just kept getting bigger. I had to get some eyelash extensions done for work, and when I came home I saw there was a little bump on my lash line. I think some glue dropped on my lash line and my pores got clogged up from oil on my eyelids.

I met with this ophthalmologist because I needed her to basically lance the stye. She was saying that issues from eyelash extensions have given her so much more business. She started this line called Daily Practice, and she has a foam cleanser specifically for your eyes. It just took off all the makeup, all the debris, all the bacteria. It’s lightweight, it’s super easy to use, and your eyes feel so clean afterward.

I was at Paris Fashion Week recently, and I went to Victoria Beckham’s show, and as a gift, they gave everyone Victoria Beckham Beauty. It’s an incredible line. She’s really thoughtful about how she makes every product. I put on this posh balm, and it felt… fine? I didn’t think much of it, but then hours later I passed by a mirror and I was like,Oh my God, why do my lips have this really nice subtle shine to them?Then I was like, wait,Is this the Victoria Beckham?So I wiped off my lips, I put it back on, and that posh balm looked so natural but it stayed on my lips all day, even after I had things to drink. I just purchased three more, so I have them in different bags. I don’t know what she’s doing to perfect every single item she has, but my God, she is doing it right.

Finding this sunscreen stick has been one of my favorite parenting hacks. It’s SPF 50, but it’s not super thick and goes on clear. You don’t have to rub it in at all. Anyone who has children knows that it is so difficult to get sunscreen on them. They just want to go off and run. But you’ve got to sit there and massage it in because their skin is so sensitive and new that you have to keep it protected from the sun. But I found these Neutrogena sunscreen sticks and you just swipe it all over them. I’ll use it on my chest, my hands, my arms, as well as my face and the back of my neck. I can put my makeup on over it. Some other sunscreens, when you put it on, it changes the texture of your foundation, but this actually helps it slide on even smoother. It’s a really smooth product.

Khaite has perfected the butt of a jean — they make everyone’s butt look good. I made my girlfriend, who would admit herself that she doesn’t have much of a butt, try them on and she was like,Oh my God, these jeans are incredible. I have them actually in every single color, but the Boone shade, I think, is the best one. Now I have to say, they are an expensive jean. Without a doubt, they’re an expensive jean. But you won’t need another jean, I promise. You have just do the girl math and think about how many times you’ll wear them. You’ll be like, these are $5 a wear. I’ve had them for years, and they look the same as the day I bought them. I got two of each wash, and I had them tailored for flats and for boots. I love them that much.

I’ve been using a hot water bottle for over a decade. I get really cold on planes, so I started bringing a hot water bottle. Now, there are a lot of different hot water bottles there. Not all of them are made equally. I wanted an old-school one that they’ve made for years and years and years. I found this specific one from a German brand and it’s the most perfect hot water bottle. I can take it through security because it’s empty. When I get onto the plane, I ask the flight attendant if they could fill it up. They always have hot water available because they serve coffee and tea. So once I have it filled up, I wrap a little cloth around it and put it on my stomach to calm down my nervous system. The flight goes by so fast because I’m just calm and relaxed and the cold doesn’t get to me. It’s honestly the best thing that you could do while traveling.

This jacket feels like wrapping yourself in a hug. I’m one of those people who gets cold really easy, so I’m always trying to find the best winter jacket. But a lot of them are just so bulky and cumbersome. The In the Clouds jacket is so lightweight. It’s the perfect layer. It’s not heavy at all, but you stay warm. It’s great for school drop-offs and night walks. At night, I put my daughter in the carrier, and I wrap us both up in this jacket, and it’s so nice and cozy.
