What Tara Lipinski Can’t Live Without

When I was working at the Olympics, I had five of these tubes with me and I would just glob it on. It’s thick, but it doesn’t break me out and it gives me so much moisture, especially when I’m wearing so much makeup. It’s basically what I use as my primer. I don’t use an actual primer, I just use this. I have drier skin and it keeps me moisturized and helps the makeup sit pretty. It’s definitely a go-to for me.

I am not a natural blonde. I naturally have brown hair. I definitely dye my hair and it needs a lot of nourishment. When I was going through fertility treatments, one of the treatments was a little harsh on my hair. My hair colorist suggested that I try this. It’s a great rebuilder and it’s so good at repairing any damage.

I have multiple Caraway pans. I love them. They have the best little storage containers too. I love using Caraway for my peace of mind, especially when it comes to cooking for my daughter. I started using them during my fertility treatments when I was trying to think of everything I could replace with a healthier, nontoxic version. I feel good that I’m using safe products for cooking and also for storing the leftovers. They work really well and they’re so pretty. I actually display mine. The colors that they offer are so beautiful. I have both the blue and the pretty off-white color.

I love my Lola blanket. I was gifted one, and then it became a gift that I give to others. It’s not like,Oh, it’s just a blanket. It’s truly the softest, cuddliest blanket I’ve ever had. I have them in multiple colors. I have the baby one that my daughter sleeps with at night. She’s a big fan of it too. It holds up great after multiple washes. It looks so gorgeous and feels so soft.

I love these baby wipes because, again, they’re a nontoxic option that I’ve always felt comfortable using, from when Georgie was a baby until now. We have them all over the house. I also use them when my hands are dirty, like they serve as my hand wipes here and there as well.

This is something new that I found on Instagram a couple months ago, and I’ve been using it every day since. I have it on now. I’m almost out, I love it so much. It has an illuminator and it has a blush color. It’s so dewy and pretty and sits on my skin so well, and the color is that perfect flush. Anytime I’m wearing it, I get so many compliments. So it’s definitely my new go-to.

They’re old school, but there’s never a summer that I’m without my Havaianas. That’s my go-to choice of a flip-flop. I have the rose-gold color. Some of my Havaianas were unfortunately lost during the Palisades fire, so I don’t have them anymore, but I had them for maybe 15 years before that. I like the thinner ones now, but I used to wear the thick ones, and they’re very durable for sure.

I cannot walk around the house barefoot, so I’m always in my house slippers. They come with me everywhere. They’re so cozy and I’ve used them for years and years and years and years. There was a Christmas version I had that I also lost in the fire, but I’m still out there looking for it because it was so cute. It had this special wintery design. Maybe they’ll bring it back in the future.

This has been a huge parenting hack for me. I used it from the start with Georgie because I travel so much with her — she’s been to six countries and 50 cities. It folds up small enough that I can actually fit it in the other half of my Rimowa suitcase, so it’s not like I’m traveling with a crib that I have to drop off at the airport. It’s lightweight and so easy to pop open. We still use it sometimes when we’re at home because after the fires, we’re still figuring out where we’re going next. But whenever we travel, I bring it.

I used this thing a lot during my fertility treatments — I’d put it over my abdomen. I also put it over my face for wrinkles and whatnot. It’s like my self-care time where I’ll use it for 30 minutes and zone out. As we age, we could use any help to stimulate collagen and red light does that, so it feels like a nice maintenance thing to keep up with as I get older.

I use this foreverything.With Georgie, when she would get rashes, I used the baby version on her. But then I kept using it as chapstick or as the last step of my skin-care routine. A couple times a week I’ll put all my other products on, and then I’ll finish with a thick layer of Aquaphor over my face before I go to sleep. So it’s definitely a do-it-all balm for me — body, face, all of it.

When I moved to L.A., I was 19 or 20, and there weren’t many DQ locations where I was living. I would drive far distances for my Choco Brownie Extreme Blizzard. In fact, it may have had something to do with me choosing my husband, because on one of our first dates, he brought a cooler to that far-out location, got me my Blizzard, and showed up to surprise me at my house. And I’m always excited when the fall flavors come back — the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard Treat is a classic.

But beyond my love for Blizzard treats, it feels meaningful how DQ’s partnership with Children’s Miracle Network can impact so many families and children. When I would go to competitions as a kid, my mom and I would stop at different children’s hospitals in cities that I was competing in because she wanted me to keep my skating in perspective. So when this opportunity came about, it felt like the perfect fit. And as a mom now with a young daughter, I feel so much gratitude and love for what Children’s Miracle Network does.
