This gigantic duffel with backpack straps is the ultimate Patagonia product, and it’s rarely on sale. I’ve also seen the chile-red color in person and don’t think the product photos really capture how nice it is — not too earthy, not too bright.

Patagonia’s Black Hole daypacks are a Strategist staple, and for good reason. For me, the stretchywater-bottleholder is an underrated design feature: It’ll fit a fat Nalgene or skinny Hydroflask.

These really are just such good swim shorts, especially for rough-and-tumble kids — the ripstop nylon comes in handy.
