What Tamera Mowry-Housley Can’t Live Without

This water bottle is a staple for the busy mom. I take it with me everywhere I go. I’m a baseball mom, and tournaments last all day long on really hot days. That’s when I need cold water, and this did the trick. I saw other moms with their Stanleys who swore by it. It really isn’t just cute and trendy. It keeps my water cold all day long. I find that I drink more water with it, too. It’s healthy, efficient, and fashionable all at the same time. I have it in rose gold, my favorite color. My daughter has a matching one and has become obsessed with it as well.

Again, this is for the busy mother. I wanted something that didn’t feel too tight all day, because I have to move, move, move. Being in perimenopause, I’m learning that you gotta keep your body moving to just keep your hormones and your mind stable. These leggings are comfortable for when I’m working out, running errands, sitting in traffic, bending down and picking up kids, everything. I have multiples, mainly in black, so I can switch up the tops. And, black is slimming, if I’m being honest.

Oh my gosh. This sucker saved my life. I timed it, and with this, it takes about 13 minutes for my hair to dry. In the summer, I dry my hair a little bit and let it air dry, but in the winter, I really need the roots to be dried. That adds volume to my natural curly hair, and I don’t have time for a whole hour and a half glam session. I need something that’s quick, easy, and gets the job done. This does that, and it doesn’t damage my hair. I’ve had it for about five years and it’s held up really well. I also have it in rose gold to match my Stanley.

I just discovered these. I did a lot of intermittent fasting growing up, which is great if you do it right. I recently learned that intermittent fasting too long can really cause your hormones to be imbalanced though, especially if you don’t have enough protein. Plus, you might be losing weight but you’re losing muscle. Again, as a mommy on the go, I was like, I don’t have time to make a protein shake. Those minutes add up. This is a very healthy protein snack that I feel good putting in my body. There aren’t a bunch of artificial additives in it. There are zero sugar options. They also have turkey jerky. It’s the best when I need a little more protein.

I was hesitant about putting this on, because it is a Christian book, but it’s helped me. I’ve been a Christian ever since I was eight. But when you get older and have kids, you really want to set and be the example. You don’t just wanna be a mouthpiece. I believe in God, the Holy Spirit and Jesus, and that they work all together. I truly wanted to know how because it can be confusing to some, and this book breaks it down in a way where you just literally feel hugged by God. To me, that’s one of the things that the Holy Spirit does. It’s your comforter as a spirit of God. As a result, it’s given me so much clarity and peace. I can’t live without it, especially nowadays. I just need that comfort and reminder more than ever with how the world is currently.

I have had this backpack for about six years, and it still looks the same. What I love about Tumi is that it’s durable, but it’s luxurious all at the same time. You know how sometimes things seem to be luxurious, but there really isn’t much practicality to them? It’s that way with designer shoes: they cost a thousand dollars but the comfort is just not there. That’s not the case at all with this backpack. It is durable, it has all the pockets I need, and it is very elegant. I use it any time I travel.

I’m obsessed with everything Barefoot Dreams. I have the robes. I have the throws. I even have doggy beds. One of my favorite things to do is be cozy. I love cuddling on the couch and watching my favorite show with my husband after we’ve cooked. It feels like home. So everywhere I go on location, I have a blanket that makes me feel cozy and at home. Barefoot Dreams always does it. I have it in pink, gray, cream, sky blue. I have one for the downstairs, one for our family room upstairs, and my daughter has one for her room. You can find them everywhere I go.

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know that I cook. I cook and bake a lot. I love making soups, chili, roasts, sourdough. And what’s great about Le Creuset is you can make anything — I mean anything — in those things. They last forever, and they’re cute. I have multiples now. I have it in red, blue, and cream.

My facialist Shani Darden told me about this, and I’ve been using it for years. As I’m getting older, melasma has started to creep up. Because this has vitamin C, it give me a glow, fades those dark spots, and just does wonders. I know there are a lot of vitamin C serums on the market, but it’s really important to find the right one for you. I stopped using this at one point and my face suffered because of it. I just looked duller and those sun spots popped back up. This really does lock in that glow.

Again, Shani Darden introduced me to red light therapy. But I noticed a difference in my skin when I moved out of town and didn’t have access to her red light therapy bed. I like this one because it’s the right frequency and has both red and blue light. Red helps with melasma and acne scars, and blue helps with acne. As I’m getting older and wiser, as I like to say, my neck is starting to tell my age. I bought this with both the face and neck mask, and I saw changes after using it for just a week. I had pigmentation in my neck lines, and it immediately removed the discoloration. I was like, What? This is insane. You just have to be consistent with it.

I thought about not putting this on the list, because I didn’t want people to see this and be like, “Of course she’s going to put her own silk bonnet on there.” But, I wouldn’t be truthful if I kept it off, and I swear by this. One of my pet peeves about silk bonnets is that they don’t stay on. Or, they have this elastic edge that could rub against the edges of your hair and result in hair loss. I wanted to create a bonnet that grips on the back of your head and ties in the front, that way it stays on and doesn’t cause damage. This does that, and I have to say, it’s really good.
