I’ve spent a lot of time asking people nosy questions about their sleep — including my colleagues. In my conversations withfellow Strategist staffersabout theirmattressesandpillows, staying cool has come up as a priority again and again. And it’s not just our staff. Many mattress-industry professionals I’ve chatted with have noted how important cooling is to customers. So with the sweltering summer heat upon us, I polled my co-workers and combed through the Strategist’s archives to round up all thesheets, fans, and other stuff the team is relying on to sleep cool.

Writers Brenley Goertzen, Arielle Avila, and I all have Cozy Earth’s extremely softandcooling sheets on our beds right now. I like to use them year round — the bamboo fabric is light and silky — but they are especially nice in summer. “No matter how hot it is in my apartment — and I had these before I got myAC unit— I’ve never felt stuffy or woken up sweaty,” Avila says. Nor has she woken up feeling toocold in the middle of the night, she adds: “These somehow perfectly regulate my temperature when I’m swaddled in them.” Goertzen also praises their ability to regulate temperature. “I’m always sad when I have to take them off our bed to wash them,” she says.
