Amazon Prime Day deals can be hit or miss, but it is consistently a good time to buy avacuum. I’ve been covering the category for three years, and I always expect to see some of our favorite models on sale for 20 to 30 percent off, bringing down the price of a fancy new Dyson orrobot vacuuminto a more manageable range. This year, the sales are starting earlier than ever — there are already nearly a dozen worthwhile deals. Prime Day officially starts on June 23, and I’ll be checking sale prices until then. Shark has long been on many Strategist lists for well-engineered, affordable appliances, and its vacuums are especially good. It has an anti-tangle hair roller and comes with a five-year warranty.

This Shark model bumped a more-expensive Dyson out of the top spot in our guide to the best cordless vacuums. Senior writer Michael Zhao especially liked its thoughtful design features, like a hinged tube and the ability to stand upright without leaning against a wall. And “it definitely delivers on cleaning power, rarely taking more than a single pass to suck up whatever mess was in front of it,” he writes.

Wet cleaners

Dyson WashG1
Strategist tech writer Jordan McMahon is very particular about the cleanliness of his floors, so his approval of the Dyson WashG1 carries a lot of weight at Strategist HQ. McMahon found that this device cut down on the time he spends mopping by a third.

If it‘s Amazon Prime Day, the Bissell Little Green upholstery cleaner is going on sale. Both the full-size and mini are 20 percent or more off, and I’ll be updating this post if they get even less expensive.

One of the best deals I’ve seen so far is on the Eufy C10 robot vacuum, which McMahon already considered a good deal at full price. “It’s nearly as good at picking up dirt as vacuums over twice its price,” he writes.

If you’re trying to splurge on a robot-vacuum-mop combo, now’s the time. The Saros 10R performs exceptionally as both a vacuum and a mop with the highest suction power of any model McMahon tested. (He verified that number by dumping coffee grounds on a rug, then seeing which robot vacuum sucked up the most. The Saros won.)
