What Tinashe Can’t Live Without

I originally got this as a gift to try out four or five years ago. I’ve been a huge fan and have been buying it ever since. It’s silky, mixes really well with mymoisturizer, and adds a lot of hydration. I use it every day right out of the shower. It’s my favorite serum.

I’ve been using this for about a year. For shows, I usually wear lipstick, but for my day-to-day, this is my go-to. It’s the perfect consistency: not too runny or thin and not too thick. It creates a barrier between your lips and everything else, and it also adds a tiny bit of a pretty pink tint. It just feels really nice and hydrating.

I’m big on the mood in a room — especially if I’m traveling, staying in hotels or backstage at venues. Some of them are just not a vibe or smell weird, and I have little ways to make it feel more comfortable, more luxurious, and more like my home. These candles do a lot. I have them everywhere. It’s a sophisticated scent. It’s clean and floral without smelling too sweet.

When you’re on airplanes and traveling and changing climates all the time, ahumidifieris really important, especially as a singer. I always have this with me backstage and in my room. It keeps me from drying out. I like to add eucalyptus oil, because why not? Just to give it that extra-fresh, spalike feel.

Hoop earringsare standard to put together any look. Even if I’m super–dressed down at the airport or chilling, I’ll throw on a pair of hoop earrings just to feel a little bit more done. I always go for a smaller gold or silver hoop. And it’s important that it doesn’t have the poke-y back. I want it to be a complete hoop so if I lean or sleep on it, it doesn’t poke me in the neck.

Rick Rubin is so cool. I originally heard him talking about his book on his podcast and got really interested in it. Then my sound engineer bought me a copy for Christmas, which was very sweet. This book is a great reference point when I need to spark an idea. I can turn to any page and find inspiration. It’s also just a really beautiful coffee-table book.

I love plants. They add so much to a room energetically. I have a bunch of them at home — probably around 50 or so. If I can’t have houseplants around me, then I do love a fresh flower. They’re on my rider backstage at my shows, and I also love having them in my hotel room if I can get them. They add a little cheer to my space. I don’t have a specific one I request because I like being surprised based on what’s good locally. But my personal favorites are lilies. They always last a long time and smell really good.

This is my line that I did with Rythm. It’s been fun making my own cannabis strain because I’ve been such a fan of theirs for a long time. It doesn’t get you too up or down. You feel like you want to come up with great ideas but also really relaxed without being too sleepy or paranoid. It’s the perfect blend for creatives.
