I Own 8 Skims Bras. Here’s What I’d Buy From Its Memorial Day Sale.

I am on record asa reluctant buyer of Skims. I am among the few who remember when the brand wasinitially called Kimono, which put me off from it altogether. But I was worn down a few years later after hearing other plus-size women speak highly of the fit and quality. It’s one of the few intimates brands with inclusive sizing, and the quality is generally good. I started with the Fits Everybody bralette, a compressive bra that cinches and holds without pinching. After that, I was hooked. I currently own eight Fits Everybody bras fromSkims, along with a cotton bra and three or four bodysuits.
As a rule, I don’t buy the brand full-price, opting instead to shop during one of the biannual sales. This year, timed to Memorial Day,Skimshas discounted the entire site by 30 percent, a first. Previously, it discounted the Fits Everybody line, but now everything is up for grabs. I can’t help but think it’s due to recent backlash, so now’s the time to, as they say, “buy the dip” and stock up. And if you don’t want to shop directly, Nordstrom is basically price-matching, with a price difference of about 80 cents.

TheFits Everybody brastrikes the rare balance of being both supportive and comfortable. As I’ve said, I own a bunch of these, but I’m not the only fan. Strategist beauty columnist Rio Viera-Newton describes it as a “superspecial, dreamy bra,” noting that it’s supportive despite being totally wireless.

Another standout product is theT-shirt, a slim-fitting tee that has a little stretch but stops short of feeling like shapewear. It’s a favorite of Anastasia Beverly Hills CEO Claudia Norvina Soare thanks to the inclusion of elastane. It also holds its shape nicely in the wash. I’ve run mine through a few cycles and can confirm that it holds up.

The bodysuit that launched a thousand TikToks and has gotten me through many dress-wearing days: the Seamless Sculpt. It’s also our top pick forshapewear. Writer Ambar Pardilla says it “contours curves and sculpts my shape while still feeling comfortable,” and as the owner of three of these, I’d agree. It’s been recently updated for a better fit, pulling in the waist even tighter and offering more core compression.

Writer Brenley Goertzen says theFits Everybody Thong bodysuitis also worthwhile. It’s less compressive than the Seamless Sculpt but still holds you in and is breathable. “The high-cut leg ensures a barely-there feel whether I wear it under a pair of jeans or trousers,” says Goertzen. The thong design also ensures there’s no visible panty line, which she says makes it easy to layer.

Thismid-thigh shortis good for creating a little lift and eliminating chafing under clothes. Stylist Kelly Augustine is a fan, as is deals editor Sam Daly, who says that they smooth things out in a natural way without pinching. And don’t be alarmed if they look Polly Pocket–size out of the pack: “They may look about ten sizes too small, but they’re deceptively stretchy — you just have to believe,” says Daly.

Skims makes our favoritetangas— an underwear cut that’s a cross between a brief and a thong. It offers medium coverage (it shows just a little cheek) and comes in a thin fabric that doesn’t create a panty line.

Skims is known for its stretchy fabrics, but I’m interested in the stiffer cotton poplin. These oversize, ultrabaggy wide-leg pants come in lots of colors and could be worn around the house or dressed up to be outside-appropriate.

The brand also has a robust men’s section. This soft stretch-cotton T-shirt has a relaxed fit and comes in those dusky postapocalyptic shades Skims does best.

This slipper sock reminds me of the leather Bottega Veneta fall/winter 2023 soled socks. It’s an upgrade from regular around-the-house socks, with a padded foam insole and thick, soft knit material.
