Sur La Table’s Anniversary Sale — which is going on now through Monday — has some truly good stuff. But it’s also one of those events that the retailer does not make particularly easy to parse. There are some misleading markdowns (items that look to be heavily discounted but are in fact what they usually cost) and 36 pages of deals, which is a lot. Lucky for you, I clicked through every single one, putting my deep knowledge to work as I pulled only the best of the best. There are items from name brands like Staub and Zwilling, basic essentials like food-storage containers and stainless-steel prep bowls, plus a surprising amount of cute tabletop items. Read on to see the items I think are worth buying, and meantime, sign up for theStrategist Sales Alertnewsletter to make sure you never miss a good deal.

I’ve owned thisbaking dishset for nearly a decade — and it’s my absolute favorite. (It also, I think, makes a great gift, if you can think that far ahead.) They’re simple but pretty. The large is a standard size for baked pastas, and the small comes in handy for sides or cooking for one or two.

I’ve never personally used Sur La Table’s brand ofDutch oven— but for a wide seven-quart, I think this is a fantastic price. (That size would run you twice as much from name brands like Le Creuset and Staub.) And it looks very nice, too (even more so, I think, than my budget Lodge pick). The wide surface area makes it perfect for holiday braises, and it would easily fit a whole chicken with vegetables around it.

This isn’t a standout markdown — but if you’ve been mulling over an All-Cladstainless-steel skilletanyway, I say go for it. It’s a perfect pan that will last you forever (and the lid, which it doesn’t always come with, makes it even more versatile).

Global makes our Best in Classchef’s knife, which is part of this set along with its paring knife for delicate tasks. To be completely honest, I think the original cost was inflated a bit — but it’s still quite a good deal, as the chef’s knife alone is usually this price.

Not everyone will need a set of threekitchen shears— but it can be useful to have one or two in that room, plus an extra in the garage or office.

Zwilling also makes one of my favoritepersonal blenders. It’s powerful and one of the more attractive ones on the market.
With the holidays around the corner, there are some good baking essentials marked down: a reusable Silpat mat for baking cookies on asheet tray, a tapered rolling pin, and Emile Henry’s classic pie dish.

This is a nice-looking set of glassfood-storage containers. The lids click down to lock, which makes them extra secure. And there are markings on the side so you can see how much is inside (helpful for meal prep).

I recently wrote about the importance ofevery kitchen having a set of nesting stainless-steel bowls. This one is on the smaller side, but the pros remain the same: You can use them to whisk dressings and sauces and marinades, portion ingredients, and more.

Here’s an especially nice-looking woodenlazy Susan, great for keeping on the counter with yoursalt cellar, pepper grinder, and other frequently used goods likeolive oil, chili flakes, and honey.
There’s some very good tableware on sale, including a couple of great platters if you plan on entertaining at all this fall and winter, and classic rattan place mats. Sur La Table’s Bistro linecomes recommendedby multiple Strategist staffers. Be Home is a personal favorite of mine for cute kitchen accessories (I think those candlesticks are especially fun, and they come inpinkandorangetoo).

Finally, here’s a set of cheese knives especially good for hosting. Nothing makes you look like you have your stuff together more than a gorgeous cheese plate with dedicated utensils.
