40 Percent Off Shark, $12 Medicube, My Favorite Retinal for $11, and More Prime Day Beauty Sales
October Prime Day is here, and we’re updating this story hourly. To find the best deals in every category, follow all of our October Prime Day coverage.
Amazon Prime Day is officially live. Based on the early Prime Day deals we saw, I had a hunch that this year’s October sale was going to be really strong for skin care, devices, and hair tools — and I was right. This sale is a major moment for K-beauty, whether you’re a dedicated fan or curious about trying something new. There are great prices on some of our favorite products from Medicube (this spicule-containing serum is nearly 70 percent off), and my Celimax Vita-A Retinal Shot Tightening Dual Cream, which has been a top-saved product on our site, is down to $21 — the lowest it’s been on Amazon.
If you’re in the market for a new hair tool, now is the time to buy. Shark Beauty, Dyson Airwrap, TYMO, Chi, and SRI all have great deals — some are more than 65 percent off during the sale.
I was slightly less excited by the makeup sales this year, but did find some worth-it deals from Laura Geller, Thrive Causemetics, and NYX, including these lip pencils that makeup artist Tim Quinn told us he stocks up on for his kit.
The October Prime Day sale ends at 2:59 on October 7. I’ll be updating my list as things sell out — and they will, so if you see something you love, grab it fast.

Another most-saved product this year. I traded in my prescription tretinoin for this cream with over-the-counter retinal, the strongest of the OTC retinoids, and maintained my results (smooth, more even-toned skin) without irritation and excessive flaking.

I tested the higher-strength version of this product in a story about spicules, a buzzy K-beauty ingredient that creates microscopic punctures in the skin, allowing active ingredients to get deeper into the skin. This is the intro-level dose and a good place to start with spicule skin care.

I file this one under “sunscreen I want to wear.” The SPF stick feels so nice on my skin, controls oil, and layers well under my makeup.

Shark FacialPro Glow At Home Hydro-Powered Facial System
Writer Dominique Pariso was impressed by the at-home Hydrafacial-like tool when it first launched and was impressed. “With the average cost of a Hydrafacial running somewhere in the $150 to $300 range these days, the FacialPro Glow would absolutely save money in the long run.”

After researching infrared technology for hair tools, I’m a convert. The tech helps dry the hair strand more evenly — inside and out — instead of overheating the outside layer, leading to dryness and damage. This dryer over $70 cheaper right now.

I also learned this year that blow-dryer technologies are not one-size-fits-all. If you have puffy, coarse, frizz-prone hair, ionic dryers can greatly reduce frizz and leave hair smoother.
