We’ve written about vacuum cleaners alot. Take a peek at our archives, and you’ll find buying guides for just about every type of vacuum, from thegeneralto thegranular. We’ve spoken tocleaning experts, researched and tested dozens of models, and crowdsourced from our own team to figure out which ones are worth your coins. We want to make sure you get not only the best model for your needs but also the best bang for your buck.
Luckily, vacuums are one of those products that are regularly on sale. The discounts can vary greatly, but you can almost always find some excellent (and Strategist-approved) options. I’ve done the digging for you and rounded up the best models that are on sale right now. Everything has been vetted by either our team or a professional cleaning expert, so whatever you choose, you can trust it’s a good buy.
Cordless and stick vacuums
Gone are the days of the clunky canister vacuum being the only option to clean your floors. These days, upright and stick vacuums are more high-tech than ever, from countlesscordlessvacuums to HEPA-filter-equipped models that destroy dust and dander. It’s the most prevalent shape in our Best in Class guides by far, and you can usually find a good deal on some of our favorites at Amazon, Best Buy, or Target at any given time.

Corded vacuums
Canister vacuums are potentially more cumbersome and definitely take up more space than a stick model, but they’re your best bet for combining superior suction power with maneuverability and the ability to clean hard-to-reach spaces. And because bagged vacs (like the ones below) are generally more hygienic than other types, they’re also good for allergy sufferers.

“Miele” is synonymous with “hardworking,” in my opinion. My mom has had one for over 15 years, so I purchased this model in 2020 when I moved to a new apartment. I love it still; it has six suction settings that work on a variety of surfaces.

According to our resident vacuum whispererMichael Zhao, this Shark model “feels a bit sturdier than Shark’s cheaper offerings and, crucially, is one of the most affordable models to come with its anti-tangle HairPro roller, which really works.” It’s just one of the reasons he named it thebest (less expensive) corded vacuum.
