It’s the best body scent that I’ve tried. I’ve wasted a lot of money on samples of musk scents to see if there’s some other eau de toilette that might do the same thing, but there’s just no substitute. I don’t know if it’s because the company sold or whatever, but it’s become harder to find. I’ve become a total psycho about building my stash, calling around every store and asking how many they have in stock, I’ve paid triple the price on eBay at times, and I even emailed Kiehl’s when there were rumors that the oil was being discontinued. The last time it came back, I bought as many as I could two days in a row so I could give some to my mom, too.

I suppose it’s off-putting to some because it feels like you’re drinking mouthwash, but I swear by it.

Mycommunity Host Defense mushroom pills, with the super-crunchy label, are also always in my toiletry kit. Mushrooms could save the world. If I’m not taking those, then I’m eating theginseng candiesmy parents keep in their car at all times. Both are good for vitality and immunity, like I won’t get sick during cold and flu season when I’m taking them every day. The ginseng is a bit expensive, so usually I’m on the mushroom pills. It’s one or the other, not both.

I’ve had some kind ofplannerevery year over the years. It’s part diary, part journal, and so important for keeping track of everything. I need to write with a pen on paper to remember things, and I think it’s important to be able to hold it and have it with me at all times. All digital calendars frustrate me. I did the whole thing around 2017 or 2018, and it fully changed my life. Up to that point, I hadn’t made art in a serious way since graduating from college back in 2010. It got me out of my head about art academia and helped me to just start drawing and painting again without worrying about what it’s supposed to be or who it’s for. It’s just for me. And it’s so cool to take yourself on dates and be intentional about it. I feel like it’s worth doing again just to remind yourself to pay attention to yourself.

I can’t seem to sleep in without aneye maskanymore. While I absolutely need the eye wells for comfort, I hate the ones that look like a bra for your head. This is a perfect balance of a cute classic eye mask with the crucial eyeball space.

I watch a lot ofAloneon the History Channel, where people try to survive in the wilderness for as long as possible with only ten items. One season, this woman killed a rabbit and ate it. But then she stuffed the skin to make a cuddle companion. When I saw that, I was like,You’re a genius. It’s important to cuddle; it’s good for your brain. Which is why I have so many of these GUND stuffies. My bed cannot handle any more babies at the moment, but I have adopted nearly all of my sweet children from eBay, and I’ve come up with a rich narrative for each of them. They get one bath when they arrive, and then never again, because the smell is important. I recently went to the children’s hospital, which was amazing but also taxing, and when I got home, I just fell into bed and smelled one and started crying. It helped me release in that moment. I also have one tattooed on my arm. My friend who travels a lot said it was important to have a grounding tattoo where you can see it so you can look down at it, which I thought was nice.

I’ve been breaking out a lot lately, and it makes it suck a lot less when you can cover it with a cutepimple sticker. Selecting a star color for the day is fun, and it’s way better than concealing active blemishes with makeup. I’m such a picker; I can’t ever leave them alone, especially when I’m anxious. I feel like it’s something I can control, but then I end up doing more damage than good, so it’s best just to have them covered. They look so much better than the clear ones, which look really gross when they start inflating with juice.

Sofie is an aesthetician who is the acne whisperer, so I go to her when I’m having a breakout. She just rocks, and she just opened anew studio on Centre Street. Mandelic acid isreally good for everyone. A lot of people with acne problems swear by it, too. It’s a gentle daily exfoliant that helps keep everything good. When I’ve run out of it I’m like,Whatever, it’s fine,then my skin gets worse, and I’m like,Oh, right. That’s the thing I haven’t been using.

There was areally long articleabout the guy who has that factory in Pennsylvania that makes Camber sweatshirts and how it takes forever because he does everything himself. I’ve ordered Camber sweatshirts that took, like, a full year to arrive. Well, my friend Dan Pacitti makes these Cease sweats that are the same weight and quality of the Camber, and they’re perfect. I have the zip hoodie and the pullover. I have three sweatsuits. How many sweatsuits does one person need? Three apparently. But they’re just so good. They’re made of a 20-ounce fabric, which is probably too hot for some people, but I think they’re perfect. And the silhouette is sexy to me. It’s really baggy. I don’t want to shame anyone’s preferences, but a tapered cut is just not my preferred silhouette for a sweatpant.

This is always stocked at home. It’s a national treasure. When it hits, there is nothing like it. I make it with an egg and eat it with kimchi.
