I’ve been looking for decent, and decently priced, cutting boards recently, and what I’ve learned so far is that walnut wood is suitable for sharp knives (not all woods are), and end-grain boards are less prone to cuts and gauges from those aforementioned sharp knives. End-grain boards can also be very pricey, but this is one of the most affordable I’ve seen, and it’s highly rated.
