A little while ago, as part ofCoat Week, fellow Strategist senior writer Michael Zhao and I tested as manyQuince puffer coatsas we could get our hands on. There were a few disappointments in the bunch, but both of us were most impressed by the Responsible Down Puffer Jacket. It is the only one of the six coats that I have continued to wear after the testing was done and the only one that gets me compliments every single time I put it on (I have it in the rich chocolate brown Quince calls Hot Fudge). And today only it’s on sale for $20 less than the already affordable $150.

As Strategist writer Katherine Gillespie pointed out in her guide tothe best women’s parkas, it’s a very convincing dupe for theAritzia Super Puffwith about the same level of bounciness and puff and a boxy shape that is both outdoorsy and stylish enough to wear to work. I actually like it better than the Aritzia coat because it’s slightly longer in the body and doesn’t have the big Super Puff “S” logo on the hood. So far it has kept me nice and toasty, even on a recent windy bike ride through Brooklyn at eight o’clock in the morning. I haven’t been all that rough on it, though I do have a messy toddler who has thrown it on the floor and smeared his snotty face on the shoulder — I’m happy to report that it wipes clean easily and still looks pretty much new.
