Prime Big Deal Days — or, as we call it, October Prime Day — starts tomorrow, October 7. But here at the Strategist, we’ve been in mega-deals mode the past several weeks. We’re doing everything we can to get you ready, from sharing the bestearly October Prime Day dealsto divulging ourtop tips for shopping the sale smartly. And like every Amazon sales event, we’re expecting a lot of the deals from past years to be live again this year.

Home and kitchen
Home deals are hit or miss — a lot of the things on sale come from random brands. We primarily stick to the décor section for Prime Day, where you’ll findrugs, wall accents, and mirrors. The kitchen section is often more robust, though, and you’re certain to find good deals onair fryers,coffee makers, and other tools and appliances. And if you’re in the market for aVitamix, Nutribullet, or KitchenAid, Prime Day is your golden ticket to a great deal.

Tech
Whether you’re shopping for yourself or others (October Prime Day is billed as a holiday-shopping kickoff, after all), the tech deals are worth your while. You will always findAirPodson sale (often for some of the best prices we ever see) during Prime Day. There’s also usually at least oneKindleon sale, though the model that gets discounted varies. And plenty of other big-ticket tech, likeBluetooth speakersanddigital picture frames, and cheaper tech accessories, like chargers, will be discounted too.
