There Are Lots of Strategist-Approved Pet Products on Sale at Amazon Today

For dogs

Former Strategist newsletter editor Mia Leimkuhler told us that this toy keeps her rescue schnauzer, Reggie, “occupied for hours” while she works from home. (She’s also gifted it to several of her dog-owning friends and assures us that “it’s a hit every time.”)

Dolly Parton’s line of dog toys are especially cute and come in fun shapes like a record, guitar, coffee cup, and high heel.

Give your pup this large, fluffy bed that’s made with high-quality synthetic faux fur.

Veterinarian Sarah Ochoa told us these calming dog treats help ease her dog’s anxiety. “I have tried her on many different brands, and these are the only treats that I have found that actually help,” she says.

The treat-tossing Furbo — which snowboarder Chloe Kim, dog experts, and dog lovers alike swear by — would make an excellent Mother’s Day gift for the mom who hates to be apart from her pets. It also allows you to livestream HD video footage to your phone and has two-way audio to speak to your dog (or cat) from afar.

For a super-cheap option, get PetCube’s Play Pet Camera, which also provides a 1080p livestream of your pet and two-way audio.

Greenies’s dental treats are great for removing plaque and freshening breath. Strategist senior writer Liza Corsillo’s dog, Uli, “loves playing with them.”

If your summer plans include any trips to the beach, a life jacket is a must, even if your dog is a great swimmer. This adjustable one from Outward Hound has high visibility and two handles to make rescues and controlled pickups a lot easier.

If your pet tends to gobble up treats, give them this puzzle toy to exercise their body and mind.

For all other outdoor activities, Frontline’s flea-and-tick preventative is on sale for dogs and cats.

For cats

Here’s a non-ugly water fountain to keep cats and small dogs hydrated.

Rocco & Roxie makes our favorite litter-box odor eliminator, and this odor- and stain-removing spray is just as effective. I’ve used this chlorine-free spray on my carpets and sofa to clean up both cat pee and vomit with no lingering odors or staining.

For cats with digestive issues or sensitive stomachs, several vets we spoke to recommended Royal Canin’s line of pet food.

And for cats that refuse to break from Fancy Feast, this set of brothlike food is 39 percent off.

Our pick for the best (less expensive) cat litter for odor control is 21 percent off. One vet especially likes that it’s unscented, so it won’t bother cats with allergies.

These Earth Rated poop bags are also great for scooping cat litter — they’re easy to open and thin, but surprisingly sturdy.

Keep your pet’s skin and fur hydrated and glossy with this salmon oil, which can be mixed into wet food.

And for calming cats, try this plug-in option from Comfort Zone. It releases synthetic pheromones that signal familiarity and safety — which is especially helpful when adopting a new kitty.

This heated outdoor kitty house has amassed thousands of five-star reviews, with one reviewer describing it as “wonderful and quite possibly a lifesaver.”

For small animals

As someone who had pet rabbits for over a decade, I can confirm that timothy hay is the best — and it’s rarely this cheap.

Some home-cleaning items are on sale, too. Shark’s HEPA-equipped air purifier will zap dust, dander, and other pet odors.
