Sticker book. Stumped onwhat to give a friend’s third-grader? Sticker book. Need a screen-free activity to do with your too-coolteen? Sticker book — specifically one they can use for zine-making or journaling. The very best sticker books have unique artwork that draws you in and lots and lots of stickers; often, they have cleverly designed activity pages too. And most of them are cheap enough to stockpile as gifts or to have on hand in case of bad weather or a bout with the flu. To help you start an enviable sticker library, I’ve gathered 29 of the best sticker books I could find for kids from preschool to high school, many of which include activity pages to make them even more engaging.

The sticker versions of those books look the same but have added activities that introduce concepts like matching and categorizing. This set of four books gets you close to 700 stickers that can be used to dress up princesses and fairies or decorate the rooms in a house or a castle. I found this bug-themed sticker book at theTerrainstore that has taken over the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens gift shop. I originally bought it asa gift for a friend’s 6-year-old daughterand liked it so much that I went back for another. My son is a bit too young to use it by himself, but he enjoys working on it with me and my husband, and especially likes that there are lots of realistic snail and worm stickers.
Photographic stickers of animals, food, and vehicles are particularly appealing to young kids because they provide a look at interesting things they might not often see in their everyday lives — like tigers or helicopters. This series of reusable sticker books was recommended to me by several fellow Strategist parents for its affordable price and ability to keep kids busy for long periods of time.

Trolio’s older daughter was gifted aHighlightssubscription when she was around 4 years old, before she could read, and since she needed help to follow most of the instructions, she wound up ignoring 80 percent of each issue; instead, she’d simply skip straight to the Hidden Pictures sticker pages that she could do on her own. Barbie: Super Sticker Book: Through the Decades
Trolio’s younger daughter, who is almost 7 and going through a big Barbie phase, received this book of historical Barbie stickers for Christmas. It’s organized by decade with timelines and scenes you can fill in with stickers of the dolls from each era; Trolio recommends it for any Barbie fan in the range of 6 to 10 years old.

This is the most expensive book on the list because it comes with over 700 three-dimensional gem and glitter stickers. There aren’t any coloring pages or mazes; it’s just stickers. But I have tried a smaller version of the book and love how versatile it is — since the stickers are really sticky and stay where you put them, it’s a wonderful resource for decorating everything frombike helmetsto printer paper to wooden toys. It also makes for a really fun birthday-party activity when paired with paper crowns, cheap sunglasses, journals, or whatever else you might want to decorate.

I discovered this weird little gem of a sticker book at the Soho Muji. Each page has a different object — lemon, mountain, moon, egg, noodles — that you use eye, nose, ears, hair, and mouth stickers to turn into a face.
