There Are Some Good New LEGO Deals for the Last Hours of Prime Day

Strategist senior editor Jen Trolio has this set of (now 22 percent off) happy plants with arms that move on her desk.

These LEGO succulents are part of Walmart’s competing Prime Day sale, but they make such good décor — and are such a good deal, at 50 percent off — that I couldn’t not include them here.

For less than $10, you get three fierce creature builds.

For kids who aren’t into spiders, this three-in-one set lets you build a parrot, a fish with seaweed, and a frog.

Or here’s a toucan that can also be a butterfly or a tropical fish.

This retro telephone is one of my all-time favorite three-in-one sets because it transforms into two more retro phones: a car phone from the ’80s and a flip phone from the 2000s.

It’s hard to go wrong gifting flowers that will never wilt.

A New York icon for a steal.

This 3-in-1 set can build a cottage, an A-frame cabin, or a three-story canal house. All three variations are open on the back so that kids can play with them like a dollhouse using the included minifigures and accessories.

The iconic Super Mario plant would look grand on a windowsill among some real living-and-breathing ones.

My son is 3 years old and just getting into the flow of building with chunky DUPLO bricks. But when he turns 4 in about six months, I’ll be giving him this creative brick box with regular-size pieces …

… But in the meantime, he (and any other “car kid”) would be thrilled with this classic DUPLO box that has lots of wheels and themed pieces for building an array of vehicles.

This is my favorite of the on-sale DUPLO sets because it teaches toddlers about emotions in a fun way. But it would also make fun desk décor.

LEGO makes non-DUPLO sets specifically for little kids 4 years old and up who are still learning how to follow basic building directions. This (30 percent off) construction set is a great example that my son would love.

This fire rescue plane comes with three minifigures — a pilot, an extinguisher operator, and a jetpack firefighter — plus it has a working “water drop.”

A present for your favorite Winnie the Pooh fan’s next birthday, perhaps?

Here’s another awesome on-sale three-in-one set; this time, the astronaut can be disassembled and transformed into a space dog or a viper jet.

Or here’s a rhino (with cute bird friends) that you can rebuild as a hippo or a walrus.

And this fox/owl/squirrel is a personal favorite.

The most iconic image from Pixar’s Up, in buildable 3-D.

This LEGO Technic Lamborghini model has a working steering wheel and doors that open.

LEGO dinosaur-bones sets always look so real, like this T. rex skull that makes a cool display piece for a kid’s room, whether they care about the Jurassic movies or not.

Similarly, kids don’t have to have seen Spidey and His Amazing Friends to enjoy playing with this set.

This charming duo of Thestrals is one of only a few Harry Potter LEGO sets we’ve seen go on sale this Prime Day — and it’s a really good price at 40 percent off.

Here’s another Harry Potter winner, a model of the Owlery at Hogwarts.

For the consummate Disney fan, this 378-piece set lets you build Cruella De Vil’s iconic car and comes with a minifig of Cruella herself as well as a Dalmatian pup.

Minecraft fans can set up scenes with characters and creatures like Badlands Explorer, a Creeper, a cave spider, and a bat that hangs upside down.

Or here’s a set for the Animal Crossing fans.

This bright yellow LEGO delivery truck would be such a fun addition to a playroom “garage.”

This Harry Potter set featuring Hagrid’s rustic hut (and Fang’s doghouse) has a lot of play potential for acting out scenes with the included Harry, Hermione, Hagrid, Ron, Malfoy, Fang, and Norbert minifigures. The roof of the hut also lifts off for easy access to the inside.

Avengers, assemble!

Once it’s built, this 998-piece car-transporter set has tons of play potential. The deck ramps on the detachable trailer tilt and drop for loading the four included sports cars; it also comes with four minifigures.

This Mars rover expands and retracts — it’s meant to reflect how real rovers go from being compact for their journey through space to expanding to carry cargo once after they land. It also has a special air-lock element that can connect to other space-themed LEGO sets.

Become the ruler of a robot-themed amusement park with this roller coaster set that also includes a posable mech with a seat inside for a minifigure to operate it.

Whether you’re a fan of Formula 1 or not, this race car garage set would make a good play set.

This three-in-one “modern house” set is particularly clever — it can be a sleek beachside manor, a tall city building with a roof terrace, or an anything-but-rustic forest retreat. As with the cottage above, all three variations are open on the back so they make great play sets too.

I am not well versed in the Star Wars universe. But I do know that 20 percent off the Millennium Falcon is a good deal.

I also know that not much is more adorable than Grogu and his little hover pram. This set comes with a miniature version to display alongside the build and is now 30 percent off.

This 20 percent off R2-D2 set also comes with a mini-me.

Sonic fans can re-create scenes from the classic video games and more recent movies with this nifty Drillmobile set.

Another good LEGO deal from Walmart’s competing sale, this soccer ball opens to reveal a mini-stadium inside.

This camp set includes five LEGO Friends figures, several animal toys, a canoe, and a working zip line.

I love all of the big LEGO animal sets whether they’re licensed characters or not. This one is 20 percent off and can be posed three ways: sitting, standing, and lying down.

This 20 percent off LEGO Starry Night set includes a Vincent van Gogh minifigure with his easel.

And the DeLorean from Back to the Future comes with mini-versions of Doc and Marty.

This highly detailed Land Rover set is a good deal for adult LEGO fans who like building classic cars.

This Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer comes with seven minifigures, including Darth Vader and a stormtrooper, and has a hidden foldout handle to help pretend-fly it through the air. It also has spring-loaded shooters and a movable top and side panels for access to the inside.

Another Star Wars ship!

I have never watched an Formula 1 race, but I would still love to build one of these chocolate-bar-size F1 replica cars. The set is 30 percent off and includes ten distinct builds.

This hyperrealistic Yamaha motorcycle for advanced builders comes with a display stand to show it off once you’re done.

This LEGO Technic crane already sold out once during Prime Day, but now it’s back — and 25 percent off — for the final hours of the sale. It’s still spendy, sure, but with the discount it’s a great value. It even comes with motors to power the articulated functions. Just make sure you have space for the finished piece, as it’s over three feet tall when it’s built.
