American Girl dolls are not cheap. But because they’re a toy that’s regularly handed down from moms to their kids, they’re worth the high price tag. I still have my childhood Molly doll packed away somewhere, and despite several decades of having been thoroughly loved, she is still in excellent condition. Over the last several years, American Girl’s Truly Me dolls have skyrocketed in popularity. And the blue-, purple-, and pink-haired versions are some of the best sellers. I had a velvet Christmas dress from American Girl when I was a kid that I treasured above most other possessions. But I would have loved more chances to match with my doll.
