Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale is Almost Over, But it Still Has a Bunch of Actually Good Shoes

Nordstrom’s shoe departmentis nice, so I’m always excited to see what it discounts during itsAnniversary Sales. And I’m very happy to report that for what feels like the first time ever, I’mnotdisappointed. In years past, it felt like the retailer was only offering price cuts on pairs that either hadn’t been selling well (outside-the-box colors, unpopular silhouettes) or had sold so well that only outlier sizes were left on offer. There’s still plenty of that this year, to be sure, but there are also some great styles that don’t feel like cast-offs, including classic loafers and ballet flats, quality running shoes fromHokaand On, a decent selection of fall-ready boots, and lots of very wearable black. Some of our initial picks have already sold out, and stock of what remains is starting to run thin, but that’s to be expected — the sale ends on Sunday night.
Nonetheless, there’s still plenty of digging to do — there are hundreds of pairs on sale, and the majority are still not worth a second look. But, deal- and shoe freak that I am, I’ve sifted through all of it to find the pairs that actually deserve your attention.
