I tend to associate the end of the holiday season with the start of spring. I think it’s because the season itself (which I believe starts on Halloween) has already felt so long and full that I can’t possibly imagine it lasting much past New Year’s Day. Of course, this is never the case. It’s still January, there are still two more months of actual winter, and it’s still cold. But there’s always retail therapy. Treating yourself to something new can be a fun way to fend off the post-holiday, dead-of-winter blues. And if that something new can also help you fend off the dead-of-winter weather, then it’s money even better spent.
