What Olympic Skiier Lucas Pinheiro Braathen Can’t Live Without

You know how people havecarry-onswhen they travel? I have mine next to me every day. Even when I get home from a trip, I leave it next to my bed and ready to go. Inside of it are just a couple of things, and the most essential is this passport holder with my ID. I picked this one because of how beautifully simple it is. To me, Italian design is the one thing that’s able to say the most with the least. The pattern is so recognizable. It inspires me how you can let so many people know who you are without putting your logo on the entire product.

I have a partnership with Red Bull, which I think a lot of people just think is having the logo on a helmet. But they have entire performance centers globally, meaning, I have access to all these resources: nutritionists, health specialists, and recovery. I was gifted this at one of their centers. It’s a very comfortable pillow. It rolls down, almost like a sausage, and you just wrap it in their own packaging. When you unwrap it, it expands to its original size. I’ve been using it since last September, and the foam has kept its shape and everything. I even sleep with it at home, not only when I’m traveling. This is huge for anyone who wants to maintain their quality of sleep on the go.

I have moreboxersin my duffle bag than I have in my wardrobe at home. These are simple. They’re all over the world, so you know what you’re getting. I like that it’s a global brand, so I can buy them basically anywhere. I’m also obsessed with their legendary campaigns, so including them on the list is a manifestation. My favorite campaign they did was Bad Bunny’s. The best in history, no doubt.

I think you’ll find a lot of similarities with my selections: consistency and access in many places around the world. That’s what I look for. This holds up well in between cars full of ski equipment, going from plane to plane, you name it. But I also really like that they have a repair guarantee at any of their stores. Whenever I need to get one fixed or sorted, they have stores at least within my next three trips. It can also fit a surprising amount. I travel with all of the things I mentioned, plus, theseBlackroll lymphatic drainage bootsthat are obviously quite impractical to pack. They fit perfectly in my suitcase. I designed my suitcase with a little tag in racing red. My main purpose of traveling will always somehow be linked to the fact that I’m a racer out here trying to become better, so I thought I’d give a little homage with the racing red.

These are on here for several reasons. This is the one thing that makes you feel at home when you’re never home. This is a part of my upbringing. This reminds me of my family, reminds me of my language that I don’t get to speak so much on tour except in interviews on a rare occasion. It’s perfect for me, who’s living in hotels, apartments, you name it. Not all the hotels I stay at offerslippers, because I can have one weekend in the wildest, bougiest Four Seasons hotel, and then to a place that’s super basic, with no amenities. I’m fluctuating between this all the time, depending on the location and where we race. Havaianas allows me to have slippers in between any room and the coach’s room for video analyzing and going to dinner. I don’t always have to be in and out of my hotel switching between shoes.

I’m putting people on with this one, because it’s a small brand as of now. Basically, you wrap this around your waist, your back, your quads, or whatever area you want to start circulation in and really get those red blood cells moving. For me, almost every day (200 plus days a year) I’m in training camp. I wake up and while having my breakfast, and I’ll have this on. Or I put it on while I’m in a car going up the mountain. It activates whatever muscle group it’s placed on before going out on the mountain giving it stress. It’s my first warm up of the day before yoga and skiing. It’s one of the steps I have to make on my way up to the ski hill in order to prevent injuries and other pains. With this, I haven’t had back pain in about four years.

This is great for anyone who’s on the run and traveling constantly. For me, as someone who’s traveling several times a week, I need to bring so much stuff already. I can’t bring everything in my skincare routine because I literally don’t have the space. This stems from the purpose to provide as much as possible with as little as possible. Not only did we want to cut down the number of ingredients in the actual moisturizer, but we also wanted to cut down the amount of products needed on the road. I got to do a lot of R&D while traveling through different climates as an athlete, a creative, doing other projects, and vacationing. It helped regulate my skin in anything from high altitudes and dry climates in Colorado to the rich, sea-level humidity in Brazil and everything in between. This product is a result of those travels.
