As a hair-care obsessive myself, one who spends their days testing hair tools and styling products, I can be quite picky about what I use day-to-day. And chances are the hair-care fanatic in your life is probably the same way. They probably already own anAirwrapand have a shower that’s bursting at the seams with products.

So to help you find something they’ll love (and hopefully don’t already have), I interviewed hairstylists and beauty experts and sifted through our archive for gifts to give to the selective hair-care hobbyist. I also included several of my own routine mainstays I’ve discovered through testing this year, all of which would make a perfect gift. And if you need any other ideas for the people on your list, don’t forget to pop over to ourholiday hub.

This is the best hair-care product I’ve tested all year (and I’ve tested a lot of products). It’s essentially a wash day in a can that always leaves my hair looking freshly washed and styled. It’s the dry shampoo to end all dry shampoos because not only does my scalp look clean after I use it, it feels clean, too.

If you don’t have Mason Pearson money this year, La Bonne Brosse is a newer brush brand that makes equally lovely gifts. “My first impression as I opened the box was that the brush is exceedingly pretty, like real-life-princess pretty,” writesStrategist senior writer Liza Corsillo. “The handle is twisted and has a nice balanced weight that makes it feel good in my hand and easy to use.” They offer a ton of colors that will also help the gift feel more personalized. The brand makes its brushes in a combination of boar, nylon, and mixed bristles and offers a handy quiz on its site that will guide you to the right one.

I’m a hair-towel evangelist, and this one feels very “French boudoir.” Sure, you can always use an old T-shirt to dry your hair post-shower, but this feels much more luxurious. In addition to the orange shade shown, it comes in five other colors.

Speaking of the French, consider this my case for 2026: Embrace the hairpin. I’ve had my silver Deborah Pagani large pin for years (and have had my eye on buying a second gold one as a gift to myself this year). It’s weighty, expensive-looking, and fairly easy to learn how to use.

Or kick it old-school with these hot rollers, recommended byJulie Dickson, founder of salonJoon Drop. “Bounce is back, and these rollers make it effortless without the curling-iron damage. And the design is so chic it’s not embarrassing if you leave it out on your counter.”

While it’s been around for a while, this has really been the year of red light. While most beauty enthusiasts already have an LED mask in their arsenal of beauty tools, for a hair-care hobbyist, a red-light helmet is probably quite high on their wish list.

“The Airwrap is a splurge-worthy tool that delivers salon-level blowouts, waves, and smoothing with minimal heat damage, making it ideal for anyone who geeks out over hair-care tech,” saysDeisy Alfaro, Dippity-Do curly-hair expert. Most hair-care fanatics probably already have an Airwrap in their bathrooms, but if they don’t, I would recommend the brand-new Co-anda2x, which is lighter, faster, and more powerful than its predecessors. I love that it cuts styling time in half and works beautifully across hair types; it feels like gifting someone an entire styling kit in one device.

And if they already have an Airwrap, consider this new release from Dyson, which is the lightest dryer the brand has ever produced, clocking in at just .7 pounds. “Sleek, lightweight, precision-engineered (yes, Rolls-Royce vibes for a hair dryer). If someone’s ready for an upgrade: This is it,” says Dickson. It’s pricey, for sure, but if your giftee blow-dries their hair daily, the lightweight construction is worth its weight in gold.

While some people just spritz their body perfume into their hair, the alcohols can dry out strands over time, which is why it’s worth having a dedicated hair perfume. I’m partial to Diptyque’s, which is subtle but long-lasting. Formulated with nourishing camellia oil, it has notes of orange blossom, patchouli, and juniper berry.

This cutie styling stick, recommended by Rio Viera-Newton for when yourflyaways“are staging a full revolt,” makes a great stocking stuffer or Secret Santa gift. Rio started using it after a friend brought it back as a gift from her visit to Japan. “It’s a small wax stick that fits in your bag but smooths large sections of hair at once. It tames stray strands without flattening volume or leaving a ton of residue, and the precision is what makes it addictive — you can target a patch of new growth or that one rogue strand sticking straight up, and it actually stays put.” Doesn’t hurt that the packaging is also adorable.

“Silk works because it creates almost no friction, so your hair isn’t getting roughed up all night—meaning less frizz, fewer dents, and far fewer split ends,” says Dickson, who says that when shopping for a silk pillowcase, you should look for 100 percent mulberry silk in a charmeuse weave that is ideally between 19–25 momme “for that smooth, weighty feel.” Her favorites are by Blissy or Lunya. “Think of it as the difference between sleeping on a cloud versus sleeping on a paper towel.”

“This luxe set brings together a powerful scalp-stimulating serum with a soothing hair treatment, perfect for someone who cares deeply about hair health from root to tip,” says Alfaro. “It’s a gift that feels indulgent, but also super intentional: You’re not just treating the surface, you’re supporting scalp and strand rejuvenation.”
