197 Best Memorial Day Sales at J.Crew, Dermstore, and More

Memorial Day weekend has arrived, and the deals are as good as we hoped. There are many deals in the home and kitchen categories, including at Article, Parachute, and Made In. And plenty of our staple fashion brands — like Everlane, Nordstrom, J.Crew, Rothy’s, and Madewell — have good sales going on, including several sale-on-sales. And, of course, we’re keeping tabs on all the best mattresses on sale.

I’ve broken out the sales I’ve found so far into a few categories. Brands are listed alphabetically below their respective categories, so you can shop at the retailer of your choice. Most of these sales end on Monday night, so you have some time to peruse.

Select indoor-outdoor furniture and décor is up to 30 percent off at Anthropologie this weekend. It’s a mix of candles, breezy linens, and tableware; I’m most intrigued by Nathalie Lété’s melamine plates and bowls adorned with sea creatures. Plus, clearance items are an extra 40 percent off at checkout.

Article’s Memorial Day sale is even better than expected. You’ll find couches for under $850, very nice-looking bedding for 40 percent off, and our best-in-class dining chair on sale in a neutral color (rare). The sale runs from now through May 26. If you want even more picks, we rounded up all our favorite Article Memorial Day deals.

Brooklinen makes some of our best-in-class bedding and bath products, from our favorite robe to the best down pillow for neck support to a crisp set of linen sheets. From now until May 27, everything on its site (minus the Caroline Z. Hurley collection) is 25 percent off.

If style is just as important to you as quality is in your home décor, the Citizenry should be your first stop this weekend. Until May 27, the entire site is 20 percent off, and its archive sale is now up to 60 percent off. I suggest grabbing some bedding — its stonewashed linen sheets are the coolest set former Strategist editor Jenna Milliner-Waddell has ever tried, and the throws are very soft — but the furniture is also a great investment.

Coyuchi is taking 20 percent off its entire site and offering free shipping on all orders from now until May 27. The brand is quite expensive, but its organic goods are quality and worthwhile. We’ve recommended getting Coyuchi’s cozy, quick-drying bath towels, wool comforters, and linen bedding while they’re a little cheaper.

Cozy Earth specializes in soft and cooling bamboo-based goods, including supple sheets, breezy pajamas, and splurge-worthy robes. The entire site is 35 percent off from now until June 2 for Strategist readers with our promo code STRATEGIST. It’s one of the better deals you’ll find at Cozy Earth (typically, it offers 20 to 25 percent off).

If you’re in the market for some interior-designer-approved home décor, check out Lulu and Georgia. Nearly everything is 20 percent off through May 27, excluding some already-on-sale pieces and select brands.

Like every holiday weekend, there are lots of deals on mattresses. And since there are so many to sift through, our sleep writer, Amelia Jerden, rounded up the best of the best in her mega Memorial Day mattress-sales guide. The standout deal to me is 30 percent off the Parachute Eco mattress, which is the deepest discount the brand has offered. If you’re looking for a cooling mattress ahead of the summer, the Leesa Legend Hybrid Chill that junior writer Bella Druckman told Jerden was actually too chilly for her on occasion (during the winter) is 30 percent off. And our No. 1 mattress pick, the Saatva, is $300 off.

Everything is 30 percent off at Parachute from now until May 28, including sale items — meaning that several Strategist-recommended bedding and bath essentials are up to 75 percent off. Our favorite super-plush robe, for example, is now just $62 in select colors, which is the lowest I’ve ever seen it.

Ruggable’s washable rugs, doormats, and more are all 20 percent off with the code MEMDAY through May 28. We especially like the stylish kitchen mat from the brand’s collaboration with Architectural Digest.

Live out your coastal-cottage fantasies at Serena & Lily, where full-price items are up to 40 percent off and clearance items are up to 70 percent off through May 28.

The beauty selection at Amazon isn’t quite as expansive as I’d hoped, but there are some good deals — particularly on sunscreen. Some Strategist-approved brands I spotted include Paula’s Choice, R+Co, and Coola. Amazon is price-matching some other brands’ Memorial Day sales, too, like EltaMD. If Dermstore doesn’t stock the products you use regularly, it definitely has at least one you’ve been meaning to try — and right now, you can take 20 percent off all of it with the code SUN, including Augustinus Bader’s aspirationally luxurious the Rich Cream, the whitening toothpaste Amanda Seyfried and Simone Rocha can’t live without, and our favorite dry shampoo.

EltaMD has long been touted as one of the best (if not the best) sunscreen brands around, and it’s currently all 20 percent off on the brand’s site, no code required. You have until the stroke of midnight on Memorial Day to stock up on a dermatologist-recommended barrier-rebuilding serums, our top-rated (tinted) sunscreen, SPF lip protection, and so much more.

Technically, this isn’t a Memorial Day sale, but the deals were too good not to mention. Select products are up to 60 percent off, though the typical discount seems to be about 30 percent off. Don’t sleep on one of our best under-eye concealers, which applies to the skin “like butter,” according to one makeup artist we spoke to.

Nécessaire makes exceptional body products, all of which are 20 percent off through May 26. Its body wash, scrub, and hand cream are the stars of their respective best-in-class stories.

Select items are up to 50 percent off, which is one of the best sales Sephora holds throughout the year. Of note: a best-in-class red lipstick, my favorite glittery eye shadow, and half off a better–than–Shape Tape concealer. Hundreds of best sellers are 20 percent off from now until June 1 with code MEMORIALDAY20, and our deals writer Alexandra Polk rounded up all the best deals from the sale. She’s stocking up on a few rare Naturium deals, including our favorite overall body wash for dry skin.

Tatcha discounts are hard to come by, but right now, the luxury Japanese skin-care brand is taking 20 percent off its entire site with the code FRIEND25 for its Friends and Family Sale. You have until May 26 to stock up on some rejuvenating moisturizers, gentle exfoliators, silky primers, and more high-end products for less.

Ulta’s sale section has a large selection of brands we like for up to 40 percent off through Monday night, especially Clinique, Avène, and Urban Decay. A good facial-hair remover is 20 percent off, and our favorite over-the-counter retinoid is 30 percent off.

Abercrombie & Fitch — home to some of our favorite bodysuits, jeans, and more — always keeps a great sale section, but right now the entire site is 25 percent off plus an extra 15 percent off when you use the code AFSUMMER at checkout. The sale ends May 26.

As per usual, I spotted some discounted Levi’s jeans at Amazon, as well as a multipack of organic-cotton tees for kids. Amazon is also price-matching several deals from other brands, including Keen. (I’d grab the Newport H2 sandals, which we’ve named the shoe of the summer.)

Already-on-sale products are an extra 40 percent off at checkout, which is one of the best discounts Anthropologie offers. Plenty of summer staples to be found here, from a $12 tank top to a Damson Madder minidress for 63 percent off.

Beyond Yoga’s sale section is up to 75 percent off from now until May 26, including a good selection of items made from its soft, Katherine Heigl–approved Spacedye fabric. Seasonal colors of our favorite soft yoga pants, the Spacedye Caught in the Midi High Waisted Legging, are also 37 percent off right now.

Everything at Everlane is 25 percent off. But if you do a little digging, there are some even deeper discounts to be found — like suede Day Gloves for $55 and slim black jeans for 60 percent off.

The brand behind some of our more whimsical reading glasses is offering 25 percent off full-price items through May 27.

Just about everything, aside from brand collaborations, is on sale at Gap. The discounts vary greatly, but you’ll get at least 20 percent off and up to 60 percent off in some cases. Tees and shorts are all half off.

Already-on-sale styles are an additional 20 percent off with the code EXTRA20 through May 26, and plenty of the brand’s signature silhouettes, like fluttery dresses and floral blouses, are at least 60 percent off.

A lot of cute stuff is on sale at J.Crew in its “Summer Kickoff Event,” including a now-$57 beach cover-up that writer Lauren Ro purchased for an upcoming vacation and one of our favorite striped tees for 61 percent off. And sale products are an extra 50 percent off with the code SHOPSALE.

Everything (with a few exclusions, like select colors of the Uneek sandals) is 25 percent off at Keen. It’s a good time to nab summer shoes for every outdoor activity, including water shoes, sandals, and hiking boots.

Madewell always has excellent long-weekend sales. This time, it’s offering 25 percent off full-price items and an extra 40 percent off already-on-sale items with the code LONGWEEKEND through May 27. And all non-denim shorts are $49.50 — no code needed — making most pairs 37 percent off.

The sustainable-clothing brand is offering 30 percent off sitewide, no code needed. One thing I’ll be eyeing: the organic-cotton scoop bra, which is, according to senior writer Lauren Ro, a near-identical dupe to ARQ’s now-retired wide-strap bras (of which I, and several other Strategist staffers, am a huge fan).

If you’re after hiking boots, now would be a good time to invest in a pair of classic Moabs, as they’re all 25 percent off. If it’s sandals, sneakers, or other shoes you want, over 200 other styles are up to 50 percent off for the “Merrell May” sale, which runs through May 28.

It’s not technically for Memorial Day, but Nordstrom’s Half-Yearly Sale will last though the long weekend. You can find a more in-depth look at our favorite deals from the sale here.

Already-on-sale styles are an extra 20 percent off through May 27 with the code FUNHOG. Most of the products are wintry sweaters and jackets, but I did spot some stuff you can wear now, like a $43 wrap dress and our best overall swim trunks.

REI’s Anniversary Sale, which runs from now through May 26, has plenty of athleticwear to choose from. The best deals are on REI’s in-house brand, which is 30 percent off. And if you don’t see something in the sale section you like, REI Co-op members can take 20 percent off any one full-price item with the code ANNIV2025, like our best overall men’s raincoat. All of Rothy’s comfortable and machine-washable shoes (and bags) are up to 30 percent off through May 27. We especially recommend the Square Mary Janes, which contributor Erika Veurink walked 15,000 steps around Florence in, or a pair of one of our best-in-class slippers, the Casual Clog.

Saucony, the maker of many of our favorite running shoes (especially for beginners), is offering 25 percent off select products through May 27. Associate editor Jeremy Rellosa particularly likes the Triumph 22s. “I found their durability great after a few seasons of training in them,” he says. “After a hundred miles on streets here in New York, they still look brand-new.” Plus, a few already-on-sale styles are an extra 25 percent off with the code SUMMER25.

In Away’s sale section, you’ll find a wide variety of discounts; most of its classic luggage is only 10 percent off, but one of our favorite soft-side suitcases and a cross-body that will make you look like Spike Lee at this year’s Met Gala are a respectable 20 percent off. And the very nice-looking duffel that at least three Strategist staffers purchased last month is $65.

I’m not jazzed about Calpak’s sitewide sale — which is a mere 15 percent — but there are a few products that are up to 60 percent off, depending on the color. The best deals: one of our favorite work backpacks, which is half-off in all 17 colors; a skinny suitcase that’s 40 percent off in five colors; and a luggage set for under $300.

REI’s Anniversary Sale, which runs from now through May 26, is one of the best opportunities each year to save on high-quality outdoor gear. This year’s selection is up to 30 percent off, with the best deals being on REI’s in-house brand. If you’re not in the market for furniture, you can still shop Crate & Barrel’s Memorial Day sale, where a nice selection of tableware and cookware is up to 60 percent off. Of note: some of our favorite dinner plates and placemats, as well a Le Creuset Dutch oven in a lovely (and exclusive-to-Crate-and-Barrel) chambray.

Dishwasher-safe cookware is a game changer for hosting and meal prepping. Through May 26, Great Jones is 25 percent off with the code SHORTCAKE, which is the best deal the brand offers. (I’m a big fan of its nonstick sheet pans, which come in both half- and quarter-size.)

Made In makes our favorite skillets, (less expensive) Dutch ovens, and so many other reliable kitchen tools. Through May 26, “summer cooking essentials” — including some grilling-specific tools that would make great Father’s Day gifts — are up to 25 percent off.

Carbon steel pans are kitchen workhorses, and Misen makes the best one we’ve found. It’s on sale for 20 percent off, and so is everything else on the brand’s site — including our favorite stainless steel sheet pan and a very reliable chef knife — when you use code SUMMER20.

Roughly 1,000 kitchen and dining products are up to 50 percent off at Sur La Table. Some of those items are an extra 20 percent off at checkout — like the handmade cake stand for 63 percent off featured here — which is a discount I don’t think I’ve seen the retailer offer before.

The Williams Sonoma sale, which is up to 75 percent off, is a good one-stop shop for big-name brands. Its in-house products are nice, too (and have the deepest discounts).

Everything at Hanna Andersson is up to 50 percent off. Make sure to use the code MDW20 at checkout to get an additional 20 percent off your order.

Just about everything is 20 percent off at Mori with the code SAVE20 through May 26. Senior writer Liza Corsillo recommends the “marshmallowy” Clever Zip pajamas, which have a two-way zipper that “makes middle-of-the-night changes faster and easier by giving you localized tushy access.”

Take 25 percent off sitewide with the code MAY25 through May 27. We’re fans of the Finnish brand’s winter clothing, but the summer section is also Strategist-staffer-approved — particularly the water shoes.
