The Best Egyptian-Cotton Sheets on Amazon, According to Hyperenthusiastic Reviewers

Here at the Strategist, we like to think of ourselves as crazy (in the good way) about the stuff we buy (like pillows), but as much as we’d like to, we can’t try everything. Which is why we have People’s Choice, in which we find the best-reviewed (that’s four-to-five-star reviews and lots of ‘em) products and single out the most convincing. And though we’ve talked to designers about their favorite bed sheets to fall asleep in and the best sheets for summer, waxed poetic about linen sheets, and combed Amazon for the best bedsheets of every material, here, we’re going deep on the best Egyptian-cotton sheets, according to the people. For ease of comparison, we’ve only featured queen-size sheet sets below, but all of these sets are available in other sizes. (Note that reviews have been edited for length and clarity.)

Best 400-thread-count Egyptian-cotton sheets

Pinzon 400-Thread-Count Egyptian-Cotton Sateen Hemstitch Sheet Set - Queen
$48 at Amazon

“Great sheets for the price. They are soft and silky and get softer as you wash them. They have a good thickness to them. I’m a picky sheet buyer, and I am satisfied with these. I ordered the light grey color and they almost look more of a light blue. … I’ve washed these many times, and they are still perfect. I have to wash my sheets every other day because I have a baby and dogs. After ordering many other cotton sheets off Amazon, these are by far the best!”

Best 600-thread-count Egyptian-cotton sheets

Mayfair Linen 600-Thread-Count 100-Percent-Cotton Sheets
$60 at Amazon

“I received my Mayfair Linen 600-thread-count queen sheets last week. The first thing I did was wash in hot water and found no shrinkage at all. The sheets fit perfectly on my high-top mattress, and the quality is just what I hoped it would be: a nice thick cotton with a luxurious sateen feel. I think a very good buy for the money. I don’t think anyone would be disappointed with this purchase.”

Thread Spread 600-Thread-Count 100-Percent Cotton Sheet Pure White Queen Sheets Set
$50 at Amazon

“Shipped fast, sheets are what I expected which is soft and breathable. Only washed once so far, but I did not see any piling. I’m happy based upon the quality to the cost, these seem to be an excellent value for getting into 100-percent Egyptian cotton sheets. I have had smoother, silkier sheets in the past for more money but you can’t beat the price on these, it’s a great value. I expect them to continue to soften up with each wash and only continue to get better. For some reason, the wife had polyester sheets on the bed, and I was heating up at night and once I discovered the new sheets were polyester I ordered these; these sheets fixed that problem and feel good.”

Best 800-thread-count Egyptian-cotton sheets

Chateau Home Collection 800-Thread-Count Egyptian-Cotton Queen Sheet Set
$74 at Amazon

“Luxurious. Replaced some Chaps-brand sheets, and the difference was remarkable. Recommend washing before putting on bed. Every wash has revealed a new level of comfort. A rather thick fabric but seems to breath. The fitted lower sheet has plenty of depth and good elastic. … Can’t wait to feel the sheets after a dozen or more washes.”

Best 1,000-thread-count Egyptian-cotton sheets

Thread Spread True Luxury 1000-Thread-Count Four-Piece Sheet Set
$115 at Amazon

“Exactly as ordered. Arrived earlier than expected. Very sleek feel and perfect fit for my mattress. We never get cold or hot with these sheets. They seem to be able to breathe and stay fresh like new all the time. No change of texture or fit after laundering. We have four other sets of Egyptian-cotton sheets bought at name-brand stores and these are just as good and a lot cheaper than the others! Can’t wait to buy more of them through Amazon.”

Best Egyptian-cotton sheets with embroidered edge

Pinzon 400-Thread-Count Egyptian-Cotton Sateen Hotel Stitch Sheet Set - Queen
$60 at Amazon

“Yes it’s 100-percent Egyptian cotton, you can feel the difference and we love them! It’s not the 1,000-thread count that we used to buy (didn’t want to spend $150-200 for those right now) and it’s not the crappy $20 sheets that make the heat worse and you toss and turn all night. This Texas heat is scorching, and when you go to bed at night after a cool shower, these sheets greet you with a cool, breathable, and slightly silky feel. No more sweating due to [bad] sheets, these are great in my opinion.”

Best Egyptian-cotton sheets with pleated hem

Pinzon 400-Thread-Count Egyptian Cotton Sateen Pleated Hem Sheet Set - Queen
$50 at Amazon

“I was really hesitant to buy these sheets because ‘400-thread count’ doesn’t seem very high when you consider all of the marketing tactics typically used when advertising Egyptian-cotton sheets. … I’m pleased to report that none of these things were issues for me. … These Pinzon sheets were thick and had nice weight to them but did not retain heat (even in the high heat we’ve been having this summer). These sheets were very comfortable and I’m glad I decided to take the risk and buy two sets while they were on sale (Prime Day). We have both the mocha, which is a nice, clean, crisp beige as well as the dusty blue, which is a light, muted blue color. I do think these wrinkle a bit after washing, but our sheets are covered by a comforter 90 percent of the time so who can see these wrinkles anyway? The sheets feel great and I’m glad I finally invested in some Egyptian-cotton sheets.”

Best Egyptian-cotton sheets for short camper mattresses

SGI Bedding Queen Sheets
$60 at Amazon

“We just purchased a motorhome, and it has a short queen bed. I went on to Amazon and found these Egyptian-cotton sheets, and I have to say: They are the same — if not better — quality than the sheets I have on my bed at home at about 25 percent of the price. I am extremely pleased with this purchase and will definitely be back in the future. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
